Tab Snooze

Snooze tabs in Chrome while you focus, then bring them back at the right moment.

Pick a time, or pick a preset

Snoozing is for the tab you are keeping open only because closing it means losing it. Choose when you want it back and it goes away until then — no reading list to remember to check, no bookmark folder that fills up and never empties.

For 1 hour · For 4 hours
Until tonight (6 PM) · Until tomorrow 9 AM · Until Monday 9 AM
Or a custom number of hours, days or weeks
Snoozed tabs are listed with their wake times, and can be woken early

Put a whole project down for the weekend

Every category has its own Snooze button, so an entire strand of work goes away together and comes back together. Snooze “Client work” until Monday 9 AM on a Friday afternoon and the category hides itself along with its tabs; on Monday it is all back, arranged the way you left it.

Snooze a category and its tabs in one action
The category hides while it sleeps, so it is not clutter either
Wake the whole thing early if plans change

Categories are the unit Nest organizes around — see categories and domain rules for how tabs get into them without dragging.

What it actually does, so nothing surprises you

A snooze is not a paused or hidden tab. Nest stores the page’s address and closes the tab, then sets a Chrome alarm and reopens it at the wake time. Worth knowing, because it explains both the upside and the limits.

A snoozed tab uses no memory — it is closed, not backgrounded
Wakes are Chrome alarms, so they survive restarts and sleep
Anything unsaved in the tab is not preserved — it reopens the page fresh
Up to 500 snoozes at a time; past that the furthest-out ones are dropped first

If what you want is the tab kept rather than reopened, that is a different tool: saved sessions hold a named set you reopen deliberately, and closed-tab restore covers the ones you shut by accident.

It comes back on its own.

That is the whole point. You do not have to remember the tab, check a list, or trust yourself to come back to it — the thing you decided to deal with on Thursday shows up on Thursday.

FAQ

What happens to a tab while it is snoozed?

It closes. Nest stores the URL and title and sets an alarm for the wake time, then reopens the page in a new tab when that time arrives. Because the tab is genuinely closed, a snoozed tab uses no memory — which is the difference between snoozing and simply muting or pinning something.

Do snoozed tabs survive restarting Chrome?

Yes. The wake is a Chrome alarm rather than an in-page timer, so it fires after a restart, after the extension’s background worker has been suspended, and after the machine has been asleep. If the wake time passed while Chrome was closed, the tab comes back the next time you start it.

Can I snooze a whole category at once?

Yes. Every category has its own Snooze button, which snoozes the tabs in it together and hides the category until they return. It is the fastest way to put a project down for the weekend without closing anything you will have to find again.

Is tab snoozing free?

Yes, with no account. Snoozing, categories, notes, closed-tab restore and local Vault snapshots are all in the free extension. Pro adds cloud sync, export and NEST Chat, none of which snoozing depends on.

Focus now. Restore later.

Use Nest to snooze distractions, clear your view, and bring tabs back when you actually need them.
